About the Author

Hajra Makda inherited her natural talent for cooking skills that have been handed down from mother to daughter for generations in her ancestral Indian home.
She has honed her natural flair for cooking by adapting inspirational recipes from her wide travel across the globe coupled with a genuine passion for
good food and adventurous culinary experiments. Culminating in her hard-earned popularity both as an international cooking consultant, outstanding food writer and editor of Masala, an influential and widely distributed food magazine.

Hajra has appeared on international television cook shows and has written for several newspapers & magazines including the Leicester Mercury and Emirates Woman although she is widely known for her books Spice'n'Easy
and Sweet'n'Easy.

Hajra has won several awards and competitions and has herself been a representative on judging panels for international cookery competitions.  She also has the distinction of providing recipes and content for television channels such as the Channel 4 Indian Summer. 

She has not only been involved in demonstrating the art of Indian cooking and representing food companies giving live demonstrations to audience during International Food Exhibitions, but has also launched her own label Asian
savouries and snack food.
